A Little Sleep Deprivation Never Hurt No One

ree

I got home at 4:15 AM, took a shower and went to bed.

By 10:05 AM I was on a Zoom call with the board I’m a part of. I got my stuff rolled up for the day and took care of some chores. There’s more Ubering to be done and the Harlem of the North party is taking place today, where we’ll go see Ghostface Killah for free.

In order to make this all happen my sleep is definitely taking a hit this weekend.

While science may disagree with me, I’m here to encourage you to push through it to make stuff happen.

Successfully completing hard tasks is good for your soul

When this weekend is done, and it’s Monday again, I will be in a better place than I am today.

There will be more money in my pocket. I’ll have gone to a fun social event and even performed at a weed store. As I write this, I’m feeling it. It’s 1:03 PM and I need to be back on the road soon. I got financial goals to meet in order to keep paying for the extra fun in life. I’m also not willing to miss this article today over my tired feeling.

Granted I really am not sure where this one is going, I wanted to put something out.

I wanted to make sure that when I recount this weekend to other people they look at me like, damn, you did all that?

When do you sleep?

I sleep when I get home from Ubering and take naps in between

In good conscience I can’t be like, being sleep deprived every day is the flex.

However a short sprint or two, to hit a specific goal is worth it. You sleep when you can. Your body can go surprisingly far on 4-5 hours of sleep. Taking a nap for an hour here and there also gives you a crazy boost.

What’s important is that you get sleep when you can fit it in. Take that nap instead of watching Netflix. Then get back on that hustle. Your body will appreciate you resting. But don’t fret if you need to pull an all-nighter.

You’re tough, you got this.

Doing hard things is a skill worth developing

The harder your accomplishment is to complete, the less people will do it.

This definitely is the case for super boring and repetitive tasks. You just need to look at video game achievements to see a good example of how boring tedium is for a select few. This is something artists should also keep in mind.

Doing hard, and impressive things, is a good way to attract positive attention. It won’t necessarily be the glue that holds your world together, but it will help. Mr. Beast did some ridiculously dumb, hard and boring things for the sake of it when he got started.

It’s hard to do what he does. It’s hard to replicate success. Doing hard things is a good way to be more successful.

Don’t be afraid of what you can do.

Live Long and Prosper Everyone

P.S. Try to be wise. Doing hard stuff aimlessly may not give you what you want.
